June Brooks Story, 78 of E. Old Hwy 64, Lexington died Monday June 1, 2009 at Hospice Home of High Point after declining health of 3 years and serious for 3 months. A funeral service will be at 2:00 PM Thursday June 4, 2009 at Davidson Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. James Messer officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Hill Memorial Park.
Mrs. Story was born in Davidson County on May 23, 1931 to Edward Brooks and Mary Sowers Brooks. She was owner and operator of June’s Beauty Shop for 47 years and a member of Pilgrim Freewill Baptist Church. Her husband, F. L. Story, daughter, Kayron Story Hunter, brother Eddie Brooks and sister Patricia Beck preceded her in death.
Surviving are son, Ronald Story and wife Nancy of Asheboro; daughter and Rebecca Story Hartly and husband Donald of Lexington; 8 grandchildren, Lee Hunter; Todd Hunter; Jared Story; Jon Story; Paul Story; David Story; Melissa Conley and Rhonda Story; brothers, Hoyt Brooks and wife Maxine and Barry Brooks and wife Mona all of Lexington and Jack Brooks and wife Dorothy of Trinity; sisters, Marlene Morris and Donna Buff and husband Calvin all of Lexington.
The family will see friends from 6:00 to 8:00 PM Wednesday at Davidson Funeral Home Lexington Chapel and at their respected homes.
