Junior Ellree Ball

Junior Ellree Ball, age 89 of Bethesda Road, Lexington passed away Sunday morning September 17, 2017 at his home. A graveside service will be held 11:00 AM Wednesday, September 20, 2017 at Beulah United Church of Christ Cemetery with Rev. Trudy Irving officiating. The family will receive friends in the fellowship hall following the service. Junior was born in Iredell County, NC November 21, 1927 to Edgar Hosea Ball and Mittie Francis Young Ball. Junior was a member of Beulah United Church of Christ. Junior was retired from Burlington Furniture and worked for the furniture industry in the area. He was also a sign painter, a gifted artist and was a veteran of the US Army having served in World War II. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Lucille Sowers Ball; a granddaughter, Kimberly McDaniel; sisters, Juanita and Virginia Ball; brothers, Floyd, Edgar, James and Charles Ball. Surviving are his daughter, Judy Lackey of Lexington; son, Ricky Ball of Lexington; grandchildren, Steve Ball and Andrew Ball; great-grandchildren, Kristin McDaniel, Ashton Ball and Conner Ball; brother, Bobby Ball of Gibsonville, NC; half-sister, Mildred Rogers of Jacksonville, FL.
