Junior Mercer, Jr.

King Manuel "Junior" Mercer Jr., 51, of Early James Road, died Sunday, Feb. 10, 2008, at Lexington Memorial Hospital after a 10-year illness. A graveside service will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Forest Hill Memorial Park by the Rev. Glenn Sanford. Mr. Mercer was born July 3, 1956, in Sullivan County, Tenn., to King Manuel Mercer Sr. and Lucy Worley Mercer. He was a former brake press operator at Morton Metal Craft. Surviving are his wife, Carolyn Walker Mercer of the home; a son, Dennis Hayes Mercer of the home; a daughter, Mandy Clark Mercer of Lexington; a grandson, Moses Lee Leonard Jr.; a brother-in-law, Dennis Dove and his wife, Betty Sue; a sister, Peggy Allison; a niece, Michelle Dove; and three nephews, Mike Allison, Mark Allison and Derek Dove. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Davidson Funeral Home and other times at the home
