Karen Louise Pearson, 83, of Thomasville, NC, passed away peacefully with her husband Bob by her side on November 29, 2024. She was born on August 14, 1941 in Providence, Rhode Island to Einar O.C. and Sonja (Kollbeck) Wennerstrom.
She graduated from Warwick Veterans Memorial High School in Warwick, RI in 1959 and married the love of her life, Bob Pearson, on November 26, 1960. They moved from Rhode Island to several other states including Massachusetts, Georgia, Florida, and North Carolina. She and Bob were very fortunate to have met so many wonderful friends who have remained an integral part of their lives. Her greatest joy was raising her children and being a stay at home Mom.
Karen lived a life filled with kindness and generosity towards others. She will be remembered for her love of family, friends and animals, gardening, keeping a pristine home, the ultimate host for any gathering, and being a very talented artist. She was active in the church, loved to read, travel to sunny places and spend time with her Shih Tzu’s throughout the years (Pepper, Whisper, Buddy & Bailey).
Karen is survived by her husband of sixty-four years, Robert E. Pearson (Bob) of Thomasville, NC; her daughter, Robin Geisel (Shawn) of Mouth of Wilson, VA; her son, David Pearson (Stephanie) of Chattanooga, TN; her two granddaughters, Ansley Pearson of Chattanooga, TN and Nina Dean (Daniel) of Kingsport, TN, and her sister, Donna Burns of West Kingston, RI. She was preceded in death by her parents, Einar and Sonja Wennerstrom and her sister, Sandra Benson.
A celebration of life service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 11, 2024 at First United Methodist Church of Lexington with Rev. Kirk Tutterow officiating. A committal service will immediately follow in the church columbarium. The family will receive friends in the fellowship hall at the conclusion of the committal service.
Those wishing, in lieu of flowers, can make a charitable contribution in her memory to First United Methodist Church, 310 South Main Street, Lexington, NC 27292.
