Karl Richard Knopf, Iii

Karl Richard Knopf, III, 83, of Tyro Road in Lexington passed away on Sunday, June 3, 2018 at his home.  At his wishes, the family will hold a private military graveside service. Karl was born on June 10, 1934 in Davidson County to Karl Richard Knopf, II, and Frances Louise Knopf.  He retired from the US Air Force after 23 years and was a Korean and Vietnam veteran.  He was a member of Tyro Methodist Church.  He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Nancy Williams.  Surviving is his life partner, Susan Waller; daughters Terri Kidd (Todd) of Salisbury, Michele Smith (Jerry) and Ronda Wyatt (Rick), both of Tyro; brother, Wayne Knopf of Melborne, FL; sister, Julia Martin of Fayetteville, NC; 4 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.  In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Hospice of Davidson County, 200 Hospice Way, Lexington, NC 27292.  Online condolences may be made at www.davidsonfuneralhome.net
