Mr. Karl Robert Rohe, Sr., 86, of Hamilton Lane, died Friday at Alston Brook Nursing Center after declining health.
A funeral service will be held at 6:00 PM Tuesday, March 3 from the Davidson Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Tim Sink officiating. A graveside service will be held on Friday, March 6th at Sadsbury Friends Burial Grounds in Lancaster County, PA.
Mr. Rohe was born July 12, 1922 in Overton, PA to Clair Rohe and Neta Molyneaux Rohe. He retired from Shick Electric in Lancaster, PA with 23 years of service and later worked for four years as a prison guard at Lancaster County Prison. He was honorably discharged from the US Army during World War II. He served in France and Germany during the war in
communications and delivered and received messages for General Patton. He also served in the military police in Washington DC after World War II. He had been a member of Christiana United Methodist Church in Pennsylvania, Lititz United Methodist Church, also in Pennsylvania, and Macedonia United Methodist Church in Lexington, NC. His wife, Bertha Rebecca Huster Rohe, preceded him in death.
He is survived by his sons, Karl Robert Rohe, Jr. and his wife, Maggie, of Boyertown, PA, and Clair F. Rohe and his wife, Julie, of Iron Station, NC; his daughter, Susan D. McCaffery and her husband, Robert, of Lexington, NC; seven grandchildren; and his great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends following the funeral service at Davidson Funeral Home in Lexington.
