Katherine Virginia Davis

Katherine Virginia Hedrick Davis, 90, of John Davis Road, died Thursday, November 19, 2015, at Hinkle Hospice House following six months of declining health. The funeral will be 3 p.m. Saturday, November 21, 2015, at Pilgrim Reformed Church, where she was a member, with the Revs. Richard Moore and William Sowers officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday at Davidson Funeral Home from 6 to 8 p.m. and other times at the home. Mrs. Davis was born November 23, 1924, in Davidson County, to John Luther Hedrick and Maggie Brewer Hedrick. She was a member of the Pilgrim Circle, former Sunday School teacher, a member of Ida Conrad Sunday school class, and delivered for Meals on Wheels for Davidson County. She was also a member of the Davidson County Home Extension Club and a former Lioness of the Pilot Lions Club. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her loving husband, John Herman Davis; two brothers, Lloyd Hedrick and Von Hedrick; and sisters, Muriel Everhart and Clara Todd. Surviving are daughters, Lavon Davis Edwards and husband Gene, Johnette Davis, all of Thomasville, and Texie Davis Jessup and husband Stephen of Francisco; grandchildren, Chip Edwards and wife Erin of Thomasville and Erin Edwards Klages and husband David of Morrisville; great-grandchildren, Ethan Edwards and Emma Edwards of Thomasville and Aubrey Klages and Amelia Klages of Morrisville. The family would like to thank the staff of Hinkle Hospice House for the love and care shared with Mrs. Davis during her illness.
