Obituary

Katherine Bugher Jolly passed away on Wednesday, November 4, 2026, in Forsyth County, at the age of 91.

Born on August 18, 1935, to the late Bernie James Bugher and Martha Mae Mathis Rowe, Katherine lived a life full of faith, love, and devotion to her family. She was a long time member of Victory Baptist Church in Thomasville, where she faithfully served through her love of music, playing the keyboard and piano since 1983.

Katherine found joy in life's simple pleasures. She loved walking along the beach searching for seashells, working on puzzles, and spending quality time with those she loved. She also was a seamstress for most of her life, where she enjoyed making quilts for family and friends. Some of her most treasured moments were spent celebrating her birthday and Mother's Day surrounded by her family.

In addition to her parents, Katherine was preceded in death by her husband, Edward "Bud" Lavern Jolly; her son, Bernie Motley; her daughter, Karen Coalson; her son-in-law, Jimmy Coalson; and her two brothers, Kenneth Paul Tesh and Donald Eugene Blackburn.

Those left to cherish her memory include her daughters, Sharon McCullough (Mark), Susie Queen, and Martha Clarke (Keith); her son, Keith Rowe; her grandchildren, Angie, Chris, Chad, Josh, Carrie, Mark, Daniel, Brian, and Aaron; 18 great-grandchildren; and 4 great-great-grandchildren.

A funeral service to honor and celebrate Katherine's life will be held on Tuesday, November 10, 2026, at Victory Baptist Church in Thomasville with Pastor Jim Vickrey officiating. The service will begin at 2:00 p.m., with visitation taking place one hour prior, beginning at 1:00 p.m. at the church. Burial will follow the service at the church cemetery.
