Katherine "Kat" Lucretia Russell Varner

Katherine “Kat” Lucretia Russell Varner, 90, of Lexington, passed away July 15, 2024, at Pine Ridge Nursing in Thomasville.

A celebration of her life will be held 10am Friday, July 26, 2024, at Holly Grove Lutheran Church Cemetery, where she was a member, with Pastor Anna Carter officiating.

Kat was born March 31, 1934, in Davidson County, to Gilbert H. Russell and Lola Conrad Russell. Kat was a devoted member of the church and the church family. She retired from Lexington Furniture having worked in customer service and was owner and operator of Kats Beauty Shop. Her passion was her faith, church, family and especially her grandchildren. Kat was a loving mother, grandmother, and sister, who will be missed by all. In addition to her parents, she is preceded by her brothers, Robert Russell, Donald Russell, sisters, Peggy Palmer, Elizabeth Jarrell.

Left to cherish her memories are her son, Anthony Wayne Varner and wife Susan, daughter, Kathy Young, both of Lexington, grandchildren, Eric Young, Holly Elizabeth Varner, Chad Edwards, great grandson, Rhett Young, sister, Myra Beck, of Lexington.

The family wishes to send a special thank you to Pine Ridge Nursing Home and Hospice of Davidson County for the special care given to Katherine.
