Katherine Atkins Thompson

Katherine Atkins Thompson passed away Sunday, July 28th, 2024.

A graveside service will be held 2:00 pm, Tuesday, July 30th, at Lexington City Cemetery. The family will receive friends and family one hour before the service at Davidson Funeral Home, Lexington Chapel.

Katherine was born April 16th, 1940, in Davidson County, NC to Virginia Saltz Atkins and Henry Garfield Atkins.  She was a graduate of Lexington Senior High School in 1959.  Her love for children and teaching was her passion while she worked at YMCA of Salisbury. Katherine enjoyed every second with her children, grandchildren, and family. Katherine is proceeded in death by parents, sisters Betty Holcomb, Peggy Caldwell, Shirley Younts and brother, Jim Atkins; son, Mark Thompson.

Survived by: daughter, Beth Thompson Correro of Tennessee, 5 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, daughter-in-law Deborah Thompson, several nieces and nephews
