Kathleen Williams Eller

  Kathleen Williams Eller, 87, of Lexington, died Sunday, Nov. 20, 2016, after a long illness. The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Trinity United Methodist Church by Dr. Billy Jarrett. Burial will follow in Lexington City Cemetery. The family will receive friends at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the church and other times at the home on Woodhaven Drive. Mrs. Eller was born in Caldwell County on Sept. 22, 1929, to Flossie Catherine Starnes Williams and Marvin Pinkney Williams. She worked in school food service for many years at Dunbar School before opening Roland Eller Jewelers on Second Avenue in Lexington with her husband, which they operated until they retired. Cooking and baking were her specialties, from her famous spaghetti to her chocolate pound cake. She was a faithful member of Trinity United Methodist Church, where she sang in the choir and taught children’s Sunday School. She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers Cecil Williams, Charles Williams (Ruby), Paul Williams (Margaret) and Jim Williams (Virginia); sisters Mae Williams Logan (Guy) and Sue Elizabeth Williams White (Loyal); and a brother-in-law, Haywood Diggs. Surviving are her husband of 67 years, Roland Eller; a daughter, Sandra Eller Michael (Wayne) and a son, Tom Eller (Pam), all of Lexington; five grandchildren, Jenny Michael Varner (Bren) of Lexington, Daniel Eller (Jenny) of Chapel Hill, Emily Michael Cagle (Gary) of Winston-Salem, Drew Eller of Raleigh and Blake Michael (Adam) of Durham; seven great-grandchildren, Jay Varner, Thomas Eller, Blake Cagle, William Eller, Alice Cagle, Andy Varner and Matthew Eller; a sister, Louise Williams Diggs of Morven; and many loving nieces and nephews. Memorials may be made to Trinity United Methodist Church, 902 S. Main St., Lexington, NC 27292.
