Kathleen Walker Garner

Kathleen Elizabeth Walker Garner, 88, formerly of Old Hwy 64, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 4 at Mountain Vista Health Park in Denton.   Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm on Friday, April 6, 2018 at Hedrick’s Grove Reformed United Church of Christ with Rev. William Sowers officiating.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.  Visitation will be held in the church fellowship hall from 12:30 to 1:30 pm before the service.   Kathleen was born on September 5, 1929 in Guilford County to Isaac Daniel Walker and Alice Garner Walker.  She retired from Centerclair Nursing Home and was a member of Hedrick’s Grove Reformed United Church of Christ.  She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband Eugene Harold Garner who died Dec. 7, 2002 and a brother, Bobby Walker, of Thomasville.   Surviving is a son, Joby Garner and his significant other Linette Greene, of Lexington; brothers, David Walker and Kenneth Walker, both of Denton; sisters; Pauline Coltrane of Tennessee; Imogene Morris of Denton; Joan Bean of Denton; Hazel Garner of Denton; and several nieces and nephews.   In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Hedrick’s Grove Scholarship Fund, 5687 E. Old US Highway 64, Lexington, NC 27292.
