Kathleen Wiggins Jones

Kathleen Wiggins Jones, 90, of Lexington, passed away Sunday, March 29, 2026, at her home.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM Wednesday, April 1, 2026, at Madison Heights Free Will Baptist Church, with Pastor David Robinson officiating. Visitation will be held from 1:00 to 2:00 PM prior to the service. Burial will follow in the Madison Heights Free Will Baptist Church Cemetery.

Kathleen was born January 24, 1936, in Swain County, North Carolina, to the late Luther Wiggins and Oma Barker. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who cherished her family. Until her death she was the last charter member of Madison Heights Free Will Baptist Church where she was proud to be a member.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Samuel Harold Jones; a son, Cliford Jones; and a brother, Bill Ledford.

Those left to cherish her memory include her sons, Clayton Jones (Ethel) and Dexter Jones (Yvonne); daughter, Elaine Moody (Harold); sister, Edna Russ; grandchildren, Valerie Mangum (Rob), Daniel Jones, Kelly Crim (Jake), Sheldon Jones, Cindy Byrd (Brian), Jessica Queen (Shandal), Katie Ratliff (David), Jon Moody and fifteen great-grandchildren. She also had special friends and caretakers, Ty Robinson, Gilda Spiegel and Rosemary Blevins.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Madison Heights Free Will Baptist Church or Hospice of Davidson County.
