Kathleen Potts Lanier

Kathleen Potts Lanier, 89 of Lanier Road passed away Saturday, September 18, 2010 at Hinkle Hospice House. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm on Tuesday at Friendship United Methodist Church with Rev. Patrick Snow officiating. The burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday from 6:00 - 8:00 pm at Davidson Funeral Home Lexington Chapel and other times at the home of her son Dane on Lanier Road. Mrs. Lanier was born on July 9, 1921 in Davidson County to Walter Gray Potts and Sally Towe Potts. She was a member of Friendship UMC and retired from Erlanger Mills. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband Andrew Jackson (A.J.) Lanier. Surviving are sons Jack Lanier and wife Ramona of Columbia, SC and Dane Lanier and wife Martha of Lexington; grandchildren Mike Lanier, Mitzi Easter and husband Chris, Chris Lanier and wife Beth, Jarrod Lanier and wife Rhonda, Tommy Rivers, Wendy Rivers, Laura Sawyer and husband Trey, Ronald Rivers and Kevin Rivers; 23 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren. Also surviving are a sister, Virginia (Sis) Weaver and husband Bryce of Lexington. Memorials may be directed to Hospice of Davidson County, 200 Hospice Way, Lexington, NC 27292.
