Kathryne Daniel Lewellen McGirt, age 80 of Ohio passed away Friday morning January 20, 2017 at Bethany Village in Dayton, Ohio. Funeral service will be held 11:00 AM Saturday, January 28, 2017 in the Davidson Funeral Home, Lexington Chapel. Burial will follow at Forest Hill Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 10:00 until 11:00 AM prior to the service.Mrs. McGirt was born January 29, 1936, in Temple, Texas, to Harman Lewellen and Margaret Bowers Lewellen. She was retired from the Matthews Police Department where she had served many years as a police officer. Her parents preceded her in death.Surviving are her son, Robert David McGirt and wife Rhonda of Germanton; daughters, Susie Sink and husband Danny of Lexington, Patty Brinkley and husband Ray of Heath, Ohio, and Shirley Lavin and husband Dr. Bill Lavin of Dayton, Ohio; 10 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and sisters, Mary Donellan of Enon, Ohio, JoAnn Sessoms of Pinehurst, Barbara Keaton of Arlington, Texas, and Linda Ellis of Clermont, Fl.In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Matthews Police Department DARE and School Resource Program, 1201 Crews Road, Matthews, NC 28105.   Online condolences may be made at www.davidsonfuneralhome.net
