Kathy Wafford Byerly

Kathy Wafford Byerly, 50, of Swicegood-Waitman Road, died Friday, July 14, 2006, at New Hanover Regional Medical Center in Wilmington. A graveside service will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Good Hope United Methodist Church Cemetery by the Rev. Eric Disher. Mrs. Wafford was born Sept. 27, 1956, in Davidson County to Raymond Lindsey "Ray" Wafford and Betty Lou Spencer Wafford. She was a homemaker and was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Tony Ray Wafford Sr. Surviving are her husband, Roger Byerly of the home; two sons, Lee Byerly and his wife, Misty, of Mocksville and Michael Wafford and his wife, Julie, of Beckley, W.Va.; two daughters, Wanda Stafford and her husband, Dennis, and Holly Page and her husband, Matt, all of Lexington; eight grandchildren, Steven Mahala, Kim Mahala, Matthew Page, Chase Pittman, Aliyah Byerly, Hannah Wafford, Landen Page and Rusty Wafford; one great-grandchild, Alana Mahala; one brother, Larry Gray Wafford Sr. and his fianceé, Chris, of Holly Ridge; and one sister, Donna Wafford Phillips and Jim of Southmont. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 Monday at Davidson Funeral Home, Lexington Chapel, and other times at the home of daughter Wanda Stafford, 194 Jada Drive. Casual clothing at the service will be appreciated.
