Katherine Elaine Earp, 52, of Westwood Lane, died Saturday, May 21, 2011 at Forsyth Medical Center.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM Tuesday, May 24 at St. Luke’s Lutheran Church, by the Rev. Howard Baker. Burial will follow at Forest Hill Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 PM Monday at Davidson Funeral Home and other times at the home.
Miss Earp was born July 1, 1958 in Davidson County to Robert Andrew and Ruth Cole Earp. She was a graduate of Greensboro College and received her Master’s Degree from Gardner-Webb University. She was a teacher at Churchland Elementary School and volunteered at Wake Forest Baptist Health Medical Center and Davidson County Parks and Recreation. She served on the Board of Directors for Special Olympics of Davidson County. She was an active member of St. Luke’s Lutheran Church, where she taught Sunday School and served on the Church Council. Her father preceded her in death.
She is survived by her mother, Ruth Cole Earp, of the home; her brother, Robert Eugene Earp and wife, Patti, of Murrells Inlet, SC; and her nephews, Brandon Scott Earp and his fiancée’, Kate Breckenridge, of Greensboro and Joshua Lane Earp of Murrells Inlet, SC.
