Katie Ruth Mote Cooper

Katie Ruth Mote Cooper, age 70 of Taylors, South Carolina passed away Saturday evening at the home of her daughter in Lexington after several months of failing health due to Cancer. A memorial service will be planned at a later date. Katie was born in Willard, NC April 3, 1947 to James Sandlin Mote and Effie Blanton Mote. She was a retired employee of Navis Global and a member of Old Fashioned Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents. Surviving are her husband, Rev. Gary N. Cooper of the home; daughters, Patricia Taylor of Lexington and Sandra Taylor of Concord; step daughter, Tracy Smart of Travelers Rest, SC; step-sons, Jason Cooper of Travelers Rest, SC, David Cooper and Michael Cooper both of Greenville, SC; grandchildren, Cheri Taylor (Lady Bug) of Concord and Katlyn Cox (Charlie) Lexington; sister, Louvania Charles of Lake Waccamaw; brother, Ray Mote (Helen) of Siler City and special friend of 30 years, Louanne Tollie of Lexington.
