Kay Smith, 77, of Davidson County, passed away Tuesday morning, December 19, 2023, at her home.
A graveside service will be held Friday, December 22, 2023, at 3:00 PM, at Forest Hill Memorial Park, with Rev. Gary Shipes officiating. Please, come as you are, as she would want you to be casual.
Kay was born on December 27, 1945, in Pennington Gap, VA, to the late Oscar Clyde Woliver and Mary Walton Woliver. She worked for many years at Dixie Furniture as a supervisor and cooked at Jack’s BBQ, which her family owned, in Denton. Kay loved her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, and read her Bible every day. Her love for cooking was apparent in everything she made because she truly cooked with love.
She is remembered for always giving great advice for every situation and was above all, a wonderful mother and grandmother. There are no words that can describe how loving and amazing a person she was.
Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her loving husband, Kenneth Jack Smith; son, Kenneth Wayne Smith; and two sisters, Linda Wells and Sandra Garrett.
Left to cherish her memory is her daughter, Darla Timmons, of the home; granddaughter, Candice Queen and her significant other, Michael Billings; two grandsons, Hunter Smith, and Jacob Smith; brother, Clyde Woliver; sisters, Shirley Kleineick, and Joan Kearns.
She will be deeply missed by all those who knew and loved her.
