He was a handyman and friend to several widowed and single senior ladies in the Bermuda Run community. He was very artistic and musically talented and enjoyed sharing these talents with his grandchildren. He was an awesome drummer and played with the Almost Country Band for 25 years. His girls and grandchildren were his world. He cherished the time spent with them and loved and adored them. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a sister, Brenda Lee; and his mother-in-law, Nellie Smith.
Surviving are his loving wife of 41 years and angel on earth, Bonnie Sue Smith Bentley of the home; daughters, Jennifer Bentley of Mocksville and Katie Bentley Belcher and husband Cory of Kingsport, TN.; sister, Cathy Sherman of Lexington; brothers, David Bentley of Florida and Greg Bentley of Lexington, who was like a son to him; his granddaughter, Jaidyn Bentley, the sunshine of his life; grandson Jayce Bentley his special Buddy Bud. The family would like to thank the entire Hinkle Hospice House staff and volunteers for the compassionate and loving and excellent care that was given to Keith during his last weeks of life. He and we, his family, were touched by so many caring people; we know he touched many of them also during his time with them. The family would like to thank God for giving us the time we had with him while at Hospice to love, share, talk, laugh, cry, reminisce, kiss, hug and be together as a family.
