Kelly Baker Greene

April 11, 1939 — March 31, 2022

Kelly Baker Greene, 82, of Lexington, passed from this world to his forever home in Heaven on Thursday, March 31 st , 2022.  Kelly spent a brief time at Lexington Medical Center, Atrium Health, Wake Forest Baptist, and the Hinkle Hospice House in Lexington before leaving his devoted wife and family. Kelly was born in Watauga County but spent most of his married life in the Tyro Community.

A funeral service will be held at 2 pm, Monday, April 4th at Davidson Funeral Home. Pastors Josh Evans, TW Baily, and Jimmy Greene will be officiating the service. Family will greet friends on Sunday evening from 5 to 7 pm at Davidson Funeral Home of Lexington.

Kelly was a master carpenter, an avid fisherman, and a faithful church member. He was retired as Owner/operator of KB Greene Construction.  He and his wife were members of Union Grove Baptist Church.

Kelly was born April 11 th , 1939, to Roby Benjamin Greene and Annie Maude Ward.  Surviving are his wife and the love of his life, Sharon Trivette Greene. Kelly and Sharon have been married for 63 years. Kelly was survived by two children; Rev. Jimmy Greene (Alisa) of Lexington, NC and Wanda Lowman (Jeff) of Salisbury, NC. Surviving brothers; Rev. Bennie Greene (Madge) of Lenoir, NC, Gary Greene (Phyllis) of Elizabethton, TN, Sister; Linda Banales (Lupe) of Morganton, NC. Kelly’s delight was in his grandchildren and great grandchildren that will miss their papaw tremendously. His Grandchildren left to cherish is memory are; Mandy Greene, Lauren Kluttz (Phillip), and Great Grandchildren; Addison Gage, Madelyn Kluttz, and Emma Kluttz. Also, he is leaving behind his faithful breakfast buddies. Kelly loved to meet, eat and fellowship over breakfast with his friends.

Last but not least, Kelly would want everyone to know that November 3 rd , 1957, (a day he loved to remember) was a day that changed his life forever.  In Kelly’s words, “This is the day the Lord seen fit to save me”.  Kelly gave witness to all that knew him that his heart had been changed and he longed to one day spend eternity with his Savior.  Kelly’s parting words will echo in our hearts; “Everything is going to be alright”.

“Special thanks” to the staff at Lexington Medical Center, Atrium Health, Wake Forest Baptist and the Hinkle Hospice House for the wonderful care they gave to Kelly and the family during this time.
