Kelly Foster Spainhour passed away on January 17, 2022. He was born to Royal and Grace Voss Spainhour on July 25, 1939, in Stokes County.
A memorial service will be held 2 pm Saturday, January 29, at Davidson Funeral Home Hickory Tree Chapel with Pastor Tommy Hepler officiating.
The family will receive friends an hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
He served in the US Marine Corps and retired after working 34 years at Norfolk Southern Railroad.
Preceded in death was his first wife, Mary Ann Atchison Spainhour. Also brother, Harry and sisters, Virginia Goins, Juanita Aldridge, and Clara Kiser. Left to cherish his memory is his second wife, Mary Sides Trivette Spainhour. A daughter, Tawanna Shay Spainhour and son, Michael Shane Spainhour. Stepchildren Johnny Trivette & Tamara (Desi) Tussey. He so much loved all his grandkids, Christina (Mark) Huffman, Hope and Drake Stewart, step grandson Desi (Heather) Tussey II. Brothers Jerry Spainhour, Paul Wayne Spainhour, and Steve Spainhour. Several nieces and nephews and special sister-in-law, Lib Voss and brother-in-law, Frank Sides.
A very special “Thank You” to Jerry Stewart and Steven Inman for helping in the critical care of Kelly. He loved them as sons.
Kelly loved his Lord, and daily read from his Bible. He spoke every night giving God a prayer list of people and included his nation. His last gift of love he gave personalized engraved Bibles at Christmas to his loved ones. He was such a loving husband, father, grandfather and was so loved by all his friends and church family.
