Kelly Cross Young, 43, passed away on August 24, 2026. She was born in Davidson County on March 10, 1983, to Bobby Cross and Erika Cross.

The family will receive friends from 4:00 – 5:00 PM, Saturday, September 19, 2026, at Davidson Funeral Home, Lexington.

A Celebration of Life will follow at 5:00 PM, with Pastor Don Clement officiating.

Kelly graduated from Central Davidson High School in 2001 and excelled in softball, a sport she loved for the competition and the camaraderie with her team.

A room always lit up when Kelly entered with her infectious personality, warm smile, and a hug for everyone she knew.

Kelly loved working in her flower garden, cooking and baking for family, and her door was always open to welcome friends into her home.

Left to carry on her light is her husband, Joshua Young, of Lexington; parents, Bobby Cross, of Lexington, and Erika Cross, of Mocksville; three children whom she loved beyond measure, Lydia Parrish (Jesse), Jackson, and Ava; grandson, Thomas; her beloved brother, Andrew; and honorary sister and life long best friend, Casey Hulsizer.

Kelly will be remembered as a kind, beautiful, vivacious, and loving soul who will be deeply missed. May she rest in God’s eternal heavenly peace.
