Kenneth "Buddy" Earl Kirkus Jr.

April 28, 1977 — November 23, 2023

Kenneth “Buddy” Kirkus, of Beaverton, OR, passed away on Thursday, November 23, 2023.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00 PM, on Friday, December 1, 2023, at Davidson Funeral Home, Lexington.

Buddy was born on April 28, 1977, in NM, to Kenneth Kirkus Sr. and Gloria Salazar Kirkus.

After high school, he proudly served his country in the Marines and later went to work for Auto Truck Transport in Oregon as a Lead Man. Buddy never met a stranger and all who came to know him counted themselves lucky to have him as a friend.

Having a passion and appreciation for the outdoors, Buddy was known to camp any chance he got, especially amidst the Redwoods in the northwest, and travel the world where he met new friends and enjoyed experiencing the different cultures. His favorite place was the Oregon coastline for its beautiful mountains and serene nature.

This coastline was where he would indulge in another joy which was navigating the roads with his cars, markedly his Porsches. Buddy always found enjoyment in the cars he owned, starting with the emerald green truck he had when he was sixteen which he retrofitted to fit an impressive sound and speaker system. He loved music and visited many live music venues where he could be around good friends and good craft beer while he listened to the musicians, particularly if they played Jazz.

He is reunited with the love of his life of twenty plus years, his wife, Tracey Richardson Kirkus, who preceded him in death.

Left to cherish his memory are his parents, Gloria Salazar Kirkus, of Lexington, Kenny Kirkus Sr. along with his stepmother, Brenda Kirkus of Lexington; sister, Denise Money, of Lexington; half-sister, Beth Dennis, of Lexington; friend, Daniel Eley, of Lexington; niece, Jillian S. Money, of Lexington; most loving aunts, Carolyn Feezor and Vera Leonard; his beloved cat, Dude; and numerous family and friends.
