Kenneth Eugene Garren, 63, of Arnold Road, died Thursday morning at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem after an accident.
The funeral will begin at 4:30 p.m. Sunday at Paul's Chapel United Church of Christ, where he was a member, by the Rev. Dave Ambroso. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Mr. Garren was born April 1, 1943, in Cherokee County to Wade Lawrence Garren and Maude Almond Garren. He was employed with Robert Hedrick Supply and was a farmer. At his church, he was a deacon and a member of the Consistory. He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Freda Powell and Evelyn Wade.
Surviving are his wife, Linda Koonts Garren of the home; two sons, Scott Garren and his wife, Donna, and Chad Garren and his wife, Malinda, all of Lexington; five grandchildren, Tim Moodey, Zack Garren, Seth Arthur, Courtney Garren and Shana Jackson; three sisters, Frances (Jennie) Stanford, of Stanley, Bonnie Stokes and her husband, Rayborn, of Ivins, Utah, and Shirley Truitt and her husband, David, of Fayetteville; numerous nieces and nephews, and a little dog, Abbie.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday at Davidson Funeral Home in Lexington and other times at the home.
