Kenneth Stroud

Kenneth Hardy Stroud, age 82 of Cambridge Road, Lexington passed away Monday evening October 15, 2018 at Hinkle Hospice House.

A memorial service will be held 2:00 PM Saturday, October 20, 2018 in the Davidson Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. Dr. Ray Howell III. A private burial will be held.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1:00 until 2:00 PM prior to the service.

Kenneth was born in Lenoir County, NC on February 8, 1936 to Abel Croom Stroud, Sr. and Cora Mercer Stroud. He was a reired employee of Proctor & Schwartz and was a veteran of the US Navy. He loved to hunt and fish, but especially working on cars as a hobby. He loved his brothers and sisters dearly and was especially fond of  his more than 39 nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Bessie Buchanan Stroud; his parents; sisters, Hilda Stroud Oliver and Maxine Stroud Edwards; brothers, Abel Croom Stroud, Jr. and Harold Edwin Stroud

Surviving are his sisters, Miriam Stroud Conner of Lexington and Gwen Stroud Dail of Benson and many nieces and nephews.
