Kenneth “Stump” Cavender, age 53, of Waterbury Place, Lexington passed away suddenly Saturday (Oct. 15, 2011) from an accident in Forsyth County.
The funeral will be 2 p.m. Sunday, October 23, 2011, at First United Methodist Church, where he was a member, with the Rev. Kelly Groce officiating. Burial will follow in Lexington City Cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday at Davidson Funeral Home from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. prior to the service at the church and other time at the home.
Mr. Cavender was born December 20, 1957, in Columbus, Ohio, to Lowell Thomas Cavender and Naomi Holmes Cavender. He was a member of Moose Lodge 317, Elks Lodge of Spencer, Executive Board member of the Davidson County Republican party, and an active member of his church. Mr. Cavender was owner/operator of Stumpbusters, Lexington Fire Extinguisher and Zambelli Fireworks.
Surviving are his wife, Kari Lynn Heib Cavender of the home; sons, Daniel Cavender,Kyle Cavender and Nathan Cavender, all of the home; daughter, Christy Cavender of the home; his father of Richwood, Ohio; mother of Marysville, Ohio; brother, Randy Cavender of Ohio; and sister, Kathy C. Ratimani and husband, Rachid, of Ohio.
