Kennith Dale Johnson

Kennith “Tex” Dale Johnson, Sr., 84, of Burkhart Road in Lexington, died Monday, October 22, 2018 at the Hinkle Hospice Home in Lexington.   A funeral service will be held 11:00 am Thursday, October 25 at Davidson Funeral Home Chapel in Lexington with Rev. Mike Fritts officiating services.  The family will receive friends on Wednesday, October 24 from 6-8 pm at Davidson Funeral Home in Lexington and other times at the home.   Burial will be Monday, October 29 at 10:00 am at National Cemetery in Salisbury with military graveside rites.   Mr. Johnson was born August 22, 1934 in Creek County, Oklahoma to Charles Johnson and Mae Goodwin Holton. He was a member of Cedar Grove Baptist Church and retired from PPG. He was preceded in death by his parents, two sons Kennith “Nub”  Dale Johnson Jr. (2014) and Scotty Johnson (2015) and a grandson Matthew Johnson (2009), as well as 3 brothers and 2 sisters.         Surviving is his wife, Glenda Johnson of the home; a daughter Susie Everhart (Mark) of Lexington; sons, Johnny Johnson (Lisa) of Lexington, Tim Phillips (Sandra) of Salisbury, Dale Phillips (Bonnie) of China Grove and Rodney Phillips of Lexington; 10 grandchildren, Christy, Mark, Nicholas, Morgan, Somer, Zach, Bryce, Alex, Baleigh and Chase; and 2 great-grandchildren, Londen and Isaac; and 2 daughter-in-laws, Pam Johnson and Ashley Johnson.
