Kent “Coach” Crim, age 69 of Alston Brook formerly of Rolling Park Drive, Lexington passed away Saturday night at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center in Winston Salem. I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Henceforth there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness. 2 Timothy 4: 7-8
Funeral service will be held at 3:00 pm Wednesday at Reeds Baptist Church with Rev. Henry Watterson officiating. Burial will follow in the Reeds Baptist Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Davidson Funeral Home, Lexington from 6:00 until 8:00 pm Tuesday night.
Coach was born in Forsyth County July 11, 1945 to Cleo Adren and Mary Ruth Wall Crim. He was a member of Reeds Baptist Church where he faithfully served as a Sunday school teacher and Deacon; a graduate of Gray High School Class of 1963; a graduate of Elon University Class of 1967 and received his Masters from UNC-Greensboro; he retired in 1998 from Davidson County Schools where he was Guidance Counselor at West Davidson High School and coached there for over 20 years. He was a member of the West Davidson Athletic Hall of Fame and Davidson County Athletic Hall of Fame. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Jane Starnes Crim in 2004.
Surviving are his daughter, Buffie Cullens and husband J.J. of Lexington; sons, Jonathan Crim and wife Melissa of Richmond, VA and Jake Crim and wife Kelly of Lexington; grandchildren, Hayden, Drake and Corinna Cullens, Chase, Brady, Victoria, Olivia and Isabella Crim; brother, Mark Crim and wife Dale of Tampa Florida.
The family would like to thank the staff of Alston Brook, for all their love and support given to Coach Crim and family during his 7 years of being a resident.
