Kent Everhart

August 15, 1955 — February 14, 2025

Kent James Everhart, age 69, transitioned to his heavenly home on February 14, 2025 at the home of his sister in Welcome.

Kent was born on August 15, 1955, in Welcome, NC and resided in Glade Valley in Alleghany County. Kent was born to James W. Everhart and Myrtle Heitman Everhart who preceded him in death.

He is lovingly remembered by his sister, Vickie Everhart Perrell (Mike) and his nephew Todd Perrell (Donna). He was the proud great-uncle to Skyenne, Hunter, and Arabella Perrell whom he loved dearly. He is also survived by his uncle Rodney Heitman and aunt Vernell Sutherland and numerous cousins. Special friends Ken Myers who was the brother he never had, cousin Rick Ball, Brian Wilson, and many others will miss him greatly.

Kent worked at PPG Industries for many years before building a house in the mountains and buying Saddle Mountain Café in Ennice, NC. He and his business partner operated the restaurant for over 10 years before his health failed. He was an avid hunter and loved sitting on his back porch and watching the deer who he called "his girls" and fed daily. His "girls" were off limits for any hunters. He had so many close friends in his mountain community especially Dean Todd and Tom Capps. Kent attended Little Pine Church of the Brethren in Ennice, NC. where a memorial service will be held at a later date.

Kent's love for his Lord, family, and friends will continue to be an inspiration to all who knew him. He will be deeply missed by all who loved him.

A Celebration of Life service will be held on Friday, February 21, 2025, at Grace Alliance Church in Lexington, NC at 11:00 am. The family will receive friends and family from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at the church prior to the service. The family will scatter his ashes on his beloved mountains at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Grace Alliance Church, 457 Burkhart Road, Lexington, NC 27292 in Kent's memory.
