Kent Barton Miller

Kent Barton Miller, 58 of Union Grove Road passed away Saturday, August 1, 2009 at McGuire VA Medical Center in Richmond, VA. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM Friday, August 7, 2009 at Mt. Olivet United Methodist Church with the Rev. Ray Surratt officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Kent was born in Davidson County on February 14, 1951 to the late William Boyer Miller and Opal Knouse Miller. He graduated from North Davidson High School in 1969. He previously worked at Fritts Packing Co. and was a member of The National Guard. Kent was an active member of Mt. Olivet United Methodist Church. In his earlier years, he was very active in a paraplegic bowling league. He was preceded in death by two aunts, Violet Knouse and Ila Knouse Leonard. He is survived by one brother, Stephen K. Miller and his wife Nancy of Arcadia; three special nephews, Todd, Ronnie and Donnie Miller also from Arcadia; a loving cousin, Michelle Gregory of Welcome. Memorials may be made to Mt. Olivet United Methodist Church, 1082 Community Road, Lexington, NC 27295 or made to donor’s choice. A visitation will be held Thursday, August 6, 2009 from 6 to 8 PM and other times at the home. Davidson Funeral Home, Hickory Tree Chapel is serving the family.
