Kent Swicegood, age 83 of Tyro Road, Lexington passed away Saturday night November 5, 2016 at Forsyth Medical Center. A memorial service will be held at Noon Saturday, November 12, 2016 at St. Lukes Lutheran Church with Rev. Jeff Hoffner officiating. Interment will be in Sandy Creek Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church from 11:00 am until Noon. Kent was born in Davidson County July 3, 1933 to Archie Blackburn Swicegood and Betty Louella Carrick Swicegood. He was a member of St. Luke Lutheran church, a veteran of the US Navy serving his country during the Korean War and a retired truck driver for Swing Transport. He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Kimberly Dawn Swicegood and his sister, Maxine Swicegood Barrett. Surviving are his daughters, Deborah Ashby and husband Robert of Winston Salem, Allison Carlton and husband Eric of Belews Creek; grandchildren, Hannah and Audrey Marion, Erika and Kelsey Carlton.
