Kevin Scoggin, Sr.

William Kevin Scoggin Sr., 49, of Hickory Point Drive, died Wednesday, August 31, 2011, at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center. The funeral will be 10 a.m. Saturday, September 3, 2011, at Coggins Memorial Baptist Church, where he was a member, with the Revs. Marvin Scoggin Jr. and David Shaffer officiating. Burial will follow at Round Hill Baptist Church, Union Mills, NC. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, September 2, 2011, at Davidson Funeral Home and other times at the home. Mr. Scoggin was born November 22, 1961, in Guilford County, to Marvin G. Scoggin and JoAnn Huffman Scoggin. He was Vice President of Crothall Health Care and President Emeritus of North Carolina BioMedical Association. Mr. Scoggin served in the U.S. Army during the Gulf War. He was a man of worldly success but his greatest success was his relationship with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. He was preceded in death by his father; and sister, Roxane Scoggin Woody. Surviving are his wife of 31 years, Deborah Scoggin of the home; sons, William Kevin Scoggin Jr. and wife, Anna, Benjamin Lee Scoggin and wife, Christina, both of Lexington, and Michael Joseph Scoggin and wife, Amber of Little Rock Air Force Base, Ar.; daughter, Amy Lauren Scoggin of the home; his mother of Browns Summit; brothers, Marvin Scoggin Jr. and wife, Peggy, of San Bernadino, CA., Harry Lee Scoggin Sr. and wife, Jayne, of Lexington, Nathan Ward Scoggin and wife, Donna, of Williamsburg, Va., and Heath Scoggin and wife, Maureen, of Harrisburg, Pa.; and father and mother-in-law, Earl and Jean Tomlin of Lexington.
