Klynt Beck Leonard passed away peacefully at his home with family by his side on January 23, 2025.
Klynt was born in Davidson County NC on January 20, 1938, to Lake Dale Leonard and Helen Beck Leonard. He was a graduate of North Davidson High School and Wingate College; he served two years in the US Army. He retired from RJ Reynolds Tobacco. He was a lifetime member of Pilgrim Reformed Church. In his younger days he loved to rabbit hunt with all his beagles. He loved working in his yard and garden. He was known for having one of the best gardens around his area. Klynt loved sports, especially basketball in which he excelled playing through school and at Wingate College. He loved watching his North Davidson Black Knights play and didn't miss many home games of various sports when he was healthy. In his later days he loved being with his family, feeding and watching birds and watching sports on TV. We will miss him so much, but know he is in a better place.
Along with his father he is preceded in death by his brothers; Bryce Leonard, Austin Leonard, and Charles Leonard, and his sister, Martha Slabach.
He leaves behind wife, Phyllis H. Leonard, his children; Jeffrey Lake Leonard (Donna), Joel Leonard (Alicia), and Amanda Leonard. He leaves two brothers, David Leonard (Brenda), and Tommy Leonard.
We thank all involved in his care, his beloved caregivers and Hospice of DC, Dr. Ted Nifong, Tammy Gonzalez, and Carolyn Mize.
A private family service will be held.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Hospice of Davidson County or Pilgrim Reformed Church.
