Lacy Carol Belcher

February 13, 1936 — February 22, 2024

Mrs. Lacy Carol Belcher, 88, passed into the arms of Jesus on Thursday, February 22 at Forsyth Medical Center.

A funeral service will be held at 2pm Wednesday, February 28 at First United Methodist Church, by the Revs. Kirk Tutterow and Cheryl Skinner.  Burial will follow at Forest Hill Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends from 6-8pm Tuesday at Davidson Funeral Home.

Mrs. Belcher was born February 13, 1936 in Davidson County to Lacy Council “Jack” Everhart and Thelma Moore Everhart.  She retired from Binnings Products after 27 years of service and had worked at the Lexington Middle School Cafeteria.  She was longtime member of First United Methodist Church, where she had been a member of the choir, Ladies Circle, and Agape Sunday School Class.  She loved people and will be missed by many.  She was a wonderful cook and was known for her pound cakes, chocolate pies and strawberry congealed salad, just to name a few.

Lacy was simply the best Mother and Grandmother “Mamaw” to ever be.  She was the most selfless woman always putting others, especially her family, before herself. Her sweet hands provided so much love and nurturing to all they touched, and of course, always held her Kleenex.

Her husband, James Roy Belcher, Jr, her son, Robert “Bobby” Belcher, her brother, John Raymond Everhart, her sisters, Betty Essick, Virginia Hill and Doris Coppley, and her grandsons, Robert Adam Belcher and Jonathan Robert Belcher, preceded her in death.

She is survived by her daughter, Mary Ann Newton (Greg); her grandchildren, Tiffany Belcher Wilfong (Brad), Nathan Newton (Kim) and Jeremy Newton; and her great-grandchildren, Julie Newton, Andy Doughtery, Ember Newton, Zoe Newton, Ayden Newton, Audri Newton, Jameson Newton and Haylee Wilfong.

In lieu of flowers, memorials should be made to First United Methodist Church, 310 S. Main St, Lexington NC 27292.

The family would like to thank the Doctors, Nurses and staff of Forsyth Medical Center for their love and care.
