Lacy Medlin

Lacy “P.D.” Odell Medlin, 88, of Sunset Drive, Lexington, went to be with his Lord on February 13, 2010. The funeral service will be at 2:00 PM at Davidson Funeral Home Chapel, conducted by Rev Edwin Chriscoe. Burial will follow in the Lexington City Cemetery with military rites by V.F.W. Post 3074. The family will receive friends from 12:30 to 1:30 PM, Tuesday at the funeral home. P.D. was born January 1, 1922 in Davidson County to Walter Medlin and Minnie Lee Billings Medlin. He was a member of Emmanuel Wesleyan Church and retired from Thomasville Furniture Industries, Inc. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, having serving during World War II, and was a member of VFW Post 3074. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by five brothers, Harvey Medlin, Bill Medlin, Crawford Medlin, Paul Medlin, Mont Medlin; two sisters, Jesse Kepley and Ruby Harper and one great-grandson, Daniel Peinado. Surviving are his wife of 63 years, Naomi Rowe Medlin of Alston Brook, one daughter, Martha Gale Bailey and husband, Michael, of Virginia Beach, VA; one granddaughter, Jennifer Lynn Byrum and husband, Todd, of Suffolk, VA; one grandson, Michael Bailey Jr of Virginia Beach, VA; and three great-grandchildren, Zachary, Albany and Nathan. Memorials may be made to Emmanuel Wesleyan Church, c/o Edwin Chriscoe, 450 Hillview Drive, Lexington, NC 27292 or a charity of your choice.
