Ladine Beck

Ladine Michael Beck, 88, of Michael Road, died Sunday, June 9, 2013, at Alston Brook Nursing Home. The funeral service will be at 3 p.m Friday at Tyro United Methodist Church, where she was a lifetime member by the Rev. W. Randall Foster. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Davidson Funeral Home. Ladine was born in Davidson County on June 12, 1924, to Henry Grady and Beulah Shoaf Michael. She graduated from Tyro and Lexington High Schools. She retired in 1992 after 32 years as Secretary of Tyro Elementary and Tyro Middle schools. She was an active member of her church, serving on the administrative board, teaching children’s Sunday School, singing in the choir, and was awarded an Honorary Lifetime membership of the UM Women. Preceding her in death were her parents; husband R. Lloyd Beck Sr.; infant twin brothers and brother Melbourne (Mal) Michael and wife Lillian; and sister Patsy(Pat) and her husband Maurice (Buck) Rogers. Surviving are; sons Michael Beck and wife Rachel of Augusta, Ga and Ray Beck and wife Sue of Lexington; brother Tom Michael and wife Esther of Lexington; two granddaughters, Jenifer and husband Lee Marr of Lexington SC, and Emily and husband Derek Fridman of Roswell, GA; and 2 great-grandchildren.
