Lafayette Matthew Everhart

January 30, 1985 — October 4, 2021

LaFaye passed away peacefully at his home, Monday October 4, 2021 and was escorted to his Savior by angels. He was born to Margie Lee Everhart on January 30, 1985 and she knew immediately he was a precious gift of God. She loved and adored him dearly and was always so very proud of him. He was a wonderful, loving son. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Joe and Margaret Everhart and great grandparents, Charlie and Della Knouse and his beloved Aunt Rachel McBride. She was affectionately known by everyone as “Nanny”. He had special friends upon coming home from the hospital, Kayla Martin, Andy Huneycutt, Jenny McCormick, Will Baker and his loving mother that continued to care for him as well as Trellis Supportive Care. He also is survived by aunt Nancy Goings, who as a small boy always took him on picnics which he enjoyed so much and his uncle Bobby Knouse and many cousins. LaFaye as he liked to be called was a loving , kind, generous and dearly loved person by many, many friends in downtown Winston Salem and surrounding area. LaFaye had the most beautiful smile just like his Grandpa Joe and a infectious laugh and crazy sense of humor. He was obsessed with his love for skeleton keys which were displayed in his apartment, on his bedspread, rugs and shower curtain, his mandated mask and many different chains around his neck.  A celebration of life will be 2:00 pm Sunday November 6, 2022 at Friedberg Moravian Church conducted by Pastors Jimmy Newsome and Dan Nelson. Burial will follow in the church columbarium. The family will see friends 1-2 pm prior to the service. Memorials may be made to Friedberg Moravian Church Columbarium Project.
