Mrs. Lalah Kepley Frank, 89, of Jala Lane, Lexington passed away Friday, March 7, 2014 at Novant Health Thomasville Medical Center.
A funeral service will be 3:00 pm Sunday March 9, 2014 at Becks Reformed Church, where she was a member, by the Revs. James Byers and Bobby Bonds. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends Saturday from 6-8 pm at Davidson Funeral Home and other times at the home.
Lalah was born November 28, 1924 in Davidson County to Thomas Stephen Kepley and Carrie Leonard Kepley. She was a lifelong member at Beck’s Reformed Church, where she taught youth and served as a deacon. She was an active member of the Day Circle, Willing Worker’s Sunday School Class and Sunrise Senior Citizens, where she enjoyed the fellowship of lifelong friends. She was a graduate of Davis Townsend School and an avid sports fan throughout her lifetime, especially UNC-Chapel Hill Athletics. Lalah served as a member of the Ladies Auxilliary VFW Post 3074 in Lexington.
For nearly twenty years. Lalah was instrumental in the establishment and growth of the family business, Kepley-Frank Hardwood Company. She enjoyed traveling around the world with her husband, Jack. She enjoyed the companionship of her children and grandchildren who often accompanied them on their adventures and travels. Lalah was known as “Granny Frank” not only to her grandchildren, but to the multitudes of children in the community. She was preceded in death by her parents, a great granddaughter, 11 year old Lauren Suzanne Cecil, a sister, Hazel Kepley Frank and a brother, James H. Kepley.
Surviving are her beloved husband of 67 years, Jack Herbert Frank Sr. of the home; two sons, Charles Keith Frank and wife, Shirley, and Jack Herbert Frank, Jr. and wife, Debbie; two grandchildren, Lori Frank Cecil and husband, Keith of Lexington, and Steven Charles Frank and wife, Melissa, of Cornelius.
Lalah was a humble loving woman who gave selflessly and sacrificed for the good of others. She loved God and lived faithfully by the words of Micah 6:8 “this is what God asks of you, to act justly, to love tenderly, to walk humbly with your God.”
