Mr. Franklin Lamont Black, 89, of Nat Conrad Road, died Saturday, December 3, at the home of his granddaughter, in King. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM Wednesday, December 7 at Beck’s Lutheran Church, by the Rev. John Mocko. There will be no public visitation. Mr. Black was born January 14, 1922 in Davidson County to Mont Fuller Black and Nannie Esther Everhart Black. He was retired from US Air Force and was a member of Beck’s Lutheran Church. His brothers, David Homer Black and James Olin Black, and his sisters, Mamie Grubb and Ruth Thomason, preceded him in death. He is survived by his wife, Mary Beck Black of the home; his daughter, Mary Jane Black LaFleur of Lexington; his grandchildren, Cathy Newsome and husband, Lannie, of King and Matthew LaFleur of Lexington. Memorials may be made to Becks Lutheran Church, 441 Becks Church Road, Lexington NC 27292. Davidson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
