Landa Varner

Landa Perry Varner, age 85 of Country Club Drive, died Thursday, May 24, 2007, at Lexington Health Care. A private service will be held Sunday at First Baptist Church Chapel, conducted by Rev. Tommy Wilson and entombment will be at Forest Hill Memorial Park Mausoleum. Landa was born in Lyon County, Nevada to Sebastian Perry and Edith Mochine Perry. She was Secretary-Treasurer of Jalan Enterprises, member of First Baptist Church, charter member of Lexington Women’s Club, former member of Business and Professional Women for 18 years and a former member of Civinettes. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband H. L. Jack Varner who died February 24, 2007. Surviving are: Son; Ed B. Ward and wife Kathy of Lexington; Grandchildren: (2) Andrew Ward and wife Katie and Zack Ward, Great-Grandchild: (1) Annie and a brother Frank Perry of Loyalton, California.
