Larry Thomas Allen, 66, of Bud Sink Road, Lexington, died Tuesday, July 31, 2007, in a tractor accident at his home.
Mr. Allen was born in Alamance County on June 9, 1941, to Clyde "Boot" Allen and Flora Cooper Allen. He retired from the N.C. Forestry Service as a District Ranger. He was an active member of Methodist Men at his church and was a good neighbor and friend to all. He served in the U.S. Army and was an avid outdoorsman and gardener.
He is survived by his mother of Graham; a daughter, Dawn Allen of Graham; a stepdaughter, Lori Nicholson, and husband Dan of Midway; three brothers, Ray Allen of Wake Forest and Randy Allen and Phil Allen, both of Graham; three sisters, Judy Cote of West Palm Beach, Fla.; Kathy Jampetro of Graham; and Janet Allen of Virginia Beach, Va.; two grandchildren, Liz and Sam Nicholson; seven nephews; five nieces; three great-nephews; and a great-niece.
The funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 2, at Bethesda United Methodist Church, where he was a member, with the Rev. Doug Hochmuth officiating. Burial will be at 4:30 p.m.Thursday Aug. 2, at Cedar Cliff United Methodist Church Cemetery in Graham. The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m. Thursday Aug. 2, in the Family Life Center of the church.
