Larry Daniel Beam

Larry Daniel Beam, 82, of Lexington, died Sunday, December 10 at Forsyth Medical Center.    A graveside service will be held at 1 pm Wednesday, December 13 at Midway United Methodist Church Cemetery, by the Revs. Chuck Ireson and John C. Woods, Jr.   The family will receive friends from 5-7 pm Tuesday at Davidson Funeral Home in Lexington.    Mr. Beam was born August 15, 1935 in Davidson County to Ralph and Hilda Everhart Beam.  He retired from R.J. Reynolds in Winston Salem and later worked at National Wholesale in Lexington.  He was a member of Midway United Methodist Church and a devoted husband and father.  He enjoyed playing bluegrass music with his friends.  His wife, Sylvia Gay Hill Beam, his brother, Ralph “Bud” Beam, his sister, Lois Carpenter, and his brother-in-law, Kay Hill, preceded him in death.    He is survived by his daughter, Sharon Beam Lassiter and husband, Duane, of Lexington; his sister, Bettie M. Harper and husband, Leroy, of Thomasville; his brother-in law, Toby Hill and wife, Susan; and his sister-in law, Ruby Hill.    In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Midway United Methodist Church, 9795 Old Highway 52, Lexington NC 27295 or to the donor’s choice.
