Larry Wayne Beane Sr.

Larry Wayne Beane Sr., age 85, of Davidson County, passed away on January 30, 2026.

Larry was born on June 6, 1940, in Davidson County, to the late Mosell Smith Beane and Kathleen Hartley.

Larry had a lifelong love for sports and was proudly one of the biggest fans of Duke University Basketball, cheering them on with unwavering enthusiasm. He also enjoyed golfing and, most of all, spending quality time with his beloved wife. For more than 15 years, Larry and his wife shared countless memories of truck driving together during work hours at Watkins Truck Lines.

In addition to his parents, Larry was preceded in death by his cherished wife, Patricia Davis Beane, with whom he shared many years of love and companionship.

He is survived by his children: Larry Wayne Beane Jr. (Tabitha), Christopher Scott Beane (Patti), Angela Hope West (Tommy), and Shemwell Ardenis Beane. He also leaves behind many cherished grandchildren who brought him great pride and joy, as well as a special cousin, Wendy Sledge, who held a meaningful place in his life.

A memorial service to honor and celebrate Larry’s life will be held on Saturday, February 7, 2026, at Churchland Baptist Church. The service will begin at 11:00 a.m., with visitation starting at 10:00 a.m. prior to the service.

Larry will be remembered for his devotion to his family, his love of sports, his adventurous spirit on the open road, and the quiet strength he carried throughout his life. His memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
