Larry Wayne Burris

Larry Wayne Burris, Sr., 84, a resident of Clemmons, passed away Wednesday, October 26, 2022 at his home. Larry was born on May 8, 1938, to the late William Lonzo and Ester Plyler Burris. He retired from Stroh’s Container where he was a supervisor.  He loved spending time with his family, being outside, working on anything that had a motor, a challenge to fix something, finding a good bargain and playing and visiting with his great grandchildren and grand dogs.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Anna Reep; four brothers, and a sister.

A memorial service will be held Sunday, October 30, 2022, at 4:00PM in Davidson Funeral Home Chapel in Winston-Salem. The family will receive friends prior to the service at 3:00PM at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers please direct memorials to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital; 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.

Left to cherish Larry’s memory is his loving wife, Judy Burris, of the home; children, Tammy Mattox (Mark) of Lewisville, Theresa Reep (Barry) of Lexington, Larry “Chuck” Burris, Jr. of Winston-Salem, and Darren Burris (Becky) of Mt. Airy; grandchildren, Kerri Humphrey, Whitney Williams (Shawn), Jesse Mattox; and great-grandchildren, Raelyn, Lakelyn, and Hamlyn.
