Larry Charles Ellis, Sr.

Larry Charles Ellis Sr., 64, of Gray Road, died Thursday, July 16, 2015, at Avante of Thomasville. The funeral will be 3 p.m. Sunday, July 19, 2015, at Davidson Funeral Home Chapel with Preacher Clyde Akers officiating. Burial will follow at Lakeview Baptist Church. The family will receive friends from 1:45 to 2:45 p.m. at the funeral home prior to the service. Mr. Ellis was born July 22, 1950, in Mingo County, W.V., to Ray Grimmett and Lula Ellis Hatfield, and was raised by his grandmother, Laura Ellis. He was a coal miner and most recently a stocker at Lowes. He was preceded in death by his parents. Surviving are a son, Larry Ellis Jr. and wife Angela of Lexington; daughter, Lori Thompson of Linwood; grandchildren, Hunter Ellis and Summer Ellis and Corey Brown all of Lexington; brother, Leonard Curtis Browning and wife Mandy of Verner, W.V.; sister, Dianna Lynn Dean and husband Johnny of Verner, W.V.; and a dear loving friend, Judy Marie Ellis.
