Larry Vernon Jarvis, 70, of NC Highway 47, died Monday, January 14, 2013, at his home following a two week illness.
The funeral will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, January 16, 2013, at Cedar Grove Baptist Church, where he was a member, with the Rev. Mike Fritts officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, January 15, 2013, at Davidson Funeral Home and other times at the home.
Mr. Jarvis was born November 16, 1942, in Davidson County, to Ernest L. Jarvis and Ruby Poole Jarvis. He was a graduate of Davidson County Community College and a sales associate with Hanes Paving. At his church he was a Deacon, trustee and adult Sunday school teacher. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a brother, Gerald Jarvis; and a great-nephew, Kris Garner.
Surviving are a brother, E. Bryce Jarvis and wife, Brenda, of Lexington; nieces, Karen Jarvis and friend, Eric, of Lexington, and Deborah Lovett and husband, Randy, of Midway; great nephews, Randall Lovett and wife, Leslie, of Lexington and Larry Lovett and wife, Glad, of El Paso, Texas; great-niece, Tabatha Garner; and seven great-great nieces and nephews.
