Larry Dean Leonard

Larry Dean Leonard, 80, of Lexington passed away on Sunday, December 10, 2023.

A funeral service will be held at 2 pm on Thursday, December 14, 2023, at Becks Reformed Church with Pastor Steve Disher officiating. Burial will follow in the Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 1 pm until 2 pm prior to the service at the Church. Mr. Leonard will lie in state on Wednesday, December 13, 2023, at Davidson Funeral Home in Lexington from 3 pm until 5 pm.

Larry was born in Davidson County on December 4, 1943, to Norman OB Leonard and Edna Curry Leonard. He retired from W-S Southbound Railroad, and a member of Becks Reformed Church. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother Bryce Leonard; and three sisters, Virgina Sowers, Ruby Walser, and Katie Leonard.

Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 42 years, Ann Lanning Leonard; his son, Rodney Leonard (Renee’), two brothers, Kenneth Leonard, and Bernard Leonard (Ruby); a sister, Patricia Perryman (Jimmy); a sister-in-law, Libby Leonard; and a host of nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Becks Reformed Church Cemetery Fund at 2845 Becks Church Rd., Lexington, NC 27292 or to Hospice of Davidson County at 200 Hospice Way, Lexington, NC 27292.
