Larry was born on May 26, 1962, in Mooresville, NC, to Larry Sherrill Morrow, Sr. and Mary Joyce Davis and lived a life filled with joy, kindness, and a zest for life that touched all who knew him. Larry was a loving son to his parents and a good brother to his sisters. He attended grade school at the Children’s Learning Center in Davidson County. Larry found happiness in everything he was a part of. After his graduation, Larry moved into a group home in Lexington where he met and made many lifelong friends. He began working in the Vocational Workshop of Davidson County. His warm and friendly nature endeared him to everyone he met. Many of his closest friends nicknamed him, “Poppa” because of those same characteristics. Larry was an active participant in the Davidson County Special Olympics for nearly twenty-one years. Participating in many activities gave him the opportunity to meet and enjoy being around others. He always looked forward to attending the VFW gatherings and annual dance socials. NASCAR racing always had his attention, especially Dale Earnhardt, Jr., #3, and he was an avid UNC Chapel Hill fan. He also had a lot of fun watching WWF wrestling and collecting WWF action figures and magazines. Above all though, Larry was the apple of his mother's eye, and Larry cherished his mother. He often spoke of her even after her death, saying she was always watching over him from heaven.
Along with his father and mother, Larry was preceded in death by a close family friend, Mack Robinette.
Left to remember his legacy of love and kindness to others are his sisters, Teresa Swing and husband Don and Pamela Kapinsky; nieces, Tiffany Langley Craig and husband Glen, Brandy Langley, Brittany Barns and husband Ben; nephew, Brandon Barrier; two great nieces and three great nephews. Larry also leaves behind many others whose lives he touched through his goodness.
