Larry Joe Newman

Larry Joe Newman, 64, of East Holly Grove Road, died Thursday, December 27, 2012, at Hinkle Hospice House following an extended illness. A celebration of life will be from 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday, December 30, 2012, at Mt. Tabor United Church of Christ Activity Center. The family will receive friends at the home of his son on Louya Road. Mr. Newman was born October 18, 1948, in Polk County, TN., to James Maxwell Newman and Laura Amburn Newman. He was a former truck driver for Cemix and of the Baptist faith. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a brother, James Newman. Surviving are his wife, Alice Shaw Newman of Lexington; sons, Scott Newman and wife, Sheila, and Joey Newman and wife, Wendy, all of Lexington; grandchildren, Rachel Newman, Patrik Newman, Tyler Newman, Cole Newman, Cassidy Newman, all of Lexington, and Cody Newman of Thomasville; great-granddaughter, Savannah House of Lexington; and sister, Glenda Johnson and husband, Kenneth, of Lexington.
